Things that make you go....yummmm
Get ready for next year
04/08/2013 09:18With a mear 4-6 weeks before potential frost ( yeah, I don't want to think about it either when it's 25 and brilliantly sunny now ) it's time to start saving seeds from some of your summer favorites now. As your snapdragons, petunias, bidens etc start to show the consequences of a long hot summer, they start to produce seeds for next year. A super easy way to collect them are to cut off some of the faded blooms, I put a paper bag right over the area I plan to collect seeds from and snip it off. Give the seed pods a good shake and the seeds will collect at the bottom of the bag. Nice eh? Not only will you have a bunch of seeds to start with in the spring, but your wallet will thank you ;) ( some will have very obvious seed pods, and some not so much...) ....give it all a go for yourself! Happy gardening.
